The Meadows Sharks Swim Team is a charter member of the Herndon Swim League, which was founded in 1983. Our team is currently a member of the league's Small Division. More information concerning the Herndon Swim league can be found using the following link: www.splashaquatic.com/swim_team.htm.

Membership on the swim team is open to any child residing in the Meadows, with a maximum age of 18 allowed. There is no fee to join the team. Swim team is held each year from right after Memorial Day until the end of July.  There are daily practices plus about eight meets, as well as several fun activities during the course of the season.  Meet days are Wednesday evenings and Saturday mornings.

An important part of the swim team is the parents of all of our swimmers. The swim team is really a family activity; we could not hold meets without the parents. A variety of jobs need to be filled, such as referee, starter, and stroke and turn judge (these three jobs require some training and experience) but many jobs require no experience, such as timer, runner, scorer, ribbon writer, and snack bar. A $25.00 non-participation fee is collected at the time of sign-up, but this fee is refunded at the end of the season as long as your family helps out the team during the season.
